Most of the working people or the ones with children hire housemaid in Dubai to lessen the everyday burden and make life a little easier. So, if you are planning on sponsoring a housemaid there are certain rules you should know before getting into the Dubai Visa procedure.
Hiring a maid involves a great amount of responsibilities. The employer or sponsor is legally responsible for hiring a foreign maid. Everyone can apply for a maid visa in Dubai but not every person is eligible. There is a certain criteria which needs to be fulfilled.
There are main step to follow for a maid visa in Dubai.
An entry permit allows your maid to enter in Dubai. For an Entry Permit, you have to submit the typed application form to the Immigration or General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA).
Maid visa application form typed from an authorized typing center. Along with a typed application to have to pay a deposit. This amount will be refunded when the maid permanently leaves the country.
You can send a copy to the maid. Deposit the original entry permit in Visa Desk at Dubai airport or DNRD counter.
A medical checkup is to be done within 30 days after the maid arrival into Dubai. You need to take your maid to a government recognized medical fitness center for the medical test.
The maid will undergo tests for HIV, TB, Hepatitis B, Pregnancy, Syphilis, Leprosy, Blood Test and X-Ray.
The 3 doses for Hepatitis B vaccination will be given. If vaccination is being already taken only the yellow certificate or proof is required while renewing helper’s visa.
After completing the medical tests the medical fitness results will be sent to DNRD electronically. It will take up to 5-7 days to get the result. If you want it urgent you have to pay more. The sponsor will get an SMS with this regard on the mobile phone. And may proceed for further process.
After getting the medical result take your maid to submit the fingerprints and application to the Emirates ID authorized center.
Labor Contract is the official contract between you and the maid. This is an agreement listing the terms including facilities and salary that is to be paid on a monthly basis.
Sponsor will receive 3 printouts of the unified contract which is to be signed by sponsor and Maid and also by the Officer. The Officer will give two copies of the contract one to be given to the Maid and one for you.
A residence Visa allows your maid to stay in Dubai for a year. Apply for residence visa within 30 days from the arrival of maid into the country. You will need to submit an Emirates ID and medical fitness report. Fill up the application from an authorized center. You can opt for urgent or non-urgent form.
Visit GDRFA and take a token for the computerized queue system. When your token number comes, submit residency visa typed application along with stamped employment entry permit, salary certificate or labor contract, original passport and passport size photo of helper, sponsor’s passport copy and deposit slip.
Maid Identity Card will be issued to you or if it is non-urgent it will be received through courier.
To Receive Emirates ID card, you need to produce residency stamp to the typist for updating the application, or you can directly call EIDA and provide the residency number.
Maid Visa renewal in Dubai needs to be done every year. Go to an authorized typist and get issued an online medical request form and apply for renewal. Get your maid’s medical fitness test done. If Hepatitis B vaccination is already done, then you do not have to pay again as the vaccination is valid for 10 years.
